Castle of Dreams opens the door to regal living

As a little girl, almost every woman dreams of living in a castle and House #16, The Castle of Dreams, built by Bill Brice of WATAB Construction Corp. is a dream come true. This showcase home combines European architectural detail with a rich design palette to create a truly regal living space.

"Significant design elements incorporated throughout is what gives this home the look and feel of a historic European castle," says Brice.

Visitors will find the stunning stone and brick exterior of the home immediately reminiscent of the castles of Old World Europe. Columns on either side of the entry doors invite visitors into an opulent grand foyer with a groin barrel vaulted ceiling overhead.

The cathedral ceilings above both the living room and grand room give the home the stately feel of an expansive castle, yet the dramatic fireplaces of the two rooms maintain plenty of warmth in these living areas. The living room has a faux painted stone mantle fireplace and the grand room boasts a two-tier fireplace with columns and an arch above the mantle.

The home takes great advantage of its lake-view setting, allowing access to the rear lanai from the master suite and family room.

The step-up tub in the master suite sits within one of the crowning design features of the home - the stone turret. This towering architectural element features numerous windows, allowing plenty of natural light to flood the master bath area.

Being that no castle is complete without its share of balconies, this dream home features upstairs bedrooms that open up to both covered and open balcony areas. Also, elegant French doors are situated at the mid-level landing and open out to an intimate iron-railed balcony overlooking the front of the home.

The flavor of Old World Europe is also showcased through distinctive design elements in the home's kitchen. The stove has a curved limestone hood beneath an arched wall of cabinets. Attractive columns flank the octagon shaped eat-in nook and the countertops are adorned with decorative, hand-carved corbels.

The home's décor will carry deep and vibrant color hues, rich textures and distinctive detail. Furniture and accessories utilize color combinations such as chocolate brown coupled with aqua blue. Textured fabrics such as velvet and tapestry materials complete with embellishments of tassels and fringe will be found throughout.

Dramatic furniture occupies all rooms of the house including romantic canopy and four-poster beds. One bedroom, decorated in a Cinderella inspired theme, is ready for a princess to move in, complete with a Cinderella coach bed.
