Homearama’s “A Taste of Chesapeake” shows off city chefs
Eight chefs from Chesapeake area restaurants will face off in a deliciously friendly food competition in a people’s choice contest at Homearama’s “A Taste of Chesapeake,” sponsored by Virginia Natural Gas and HR Magazine, from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Edinburgh Meadows in Chesapeake.
Visitors to the event can vote for their favorite dish prepared by the chefs and served in the Homearama showcase homes to choose a “people’s choice winner.”
A team of experienced restaurant critics brought together by HR Magazine will also be on hand to make the rounds and determine a “critic’s choice award.” Both winners will be featured in an upcoming issue of Hampton Roads’ lifestyle magazine.
Chefs from the Chesapeake eateries Busky's Bar & Grill, Coffee Phix, Court House Café, Locks Pointe Restaurant, Pasha, Savannah's, Sterling's Steak House and Unique Pizza are all competing in this year's event.
Thanks to Virginia Natural Gas, Homearama tasting events have become a popular annual tradition. This year’s event promises to showcase an eclectic mix of specialties from each of the unique restaurants featured.
“A Taste of Chesapeake” is free with admission to Homearama. Homearama is open to the public Sept. 29-Oct. 14, from noon until 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
