Children who come to Homearama on Saturday, Oct. 17, will find a special party just for them: Kidarama at Homearama. The festivities take place from 12-2 p.m. at the 2009 TBA Charity House, the Sydney Lambert.
Activities include:
Face-painting
CHKD’s “Buddy Brigade” pet therapists
CHKD mascot Healthy Bear
Fun, hands-on activities to teach children and parents about health and safety.
The 2007 TBA Charity House is named for 6-year-old Sydney Lynne Lambert of Chesapeake, who was diagnosed with cancer at the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters when she was 9 months old. Proceeds from the sale of the home, constructed by Herb Watson of The Walters Company Inc. and the donations of generous suppliers and subcontractors, will benefit CHKD.
The 2009 Charity House is one of 12 custom showcase homes under construction for this year’s Homearama, which is located in the Culpepper Landing neighborhood of Chesapeake adjacent to the Dismal Swamp Canal and Wildlife Refuge. Since 1988, TBA members have helped build 20 Charity Houses, which have raised more than $1 million for local children’s programs.
