Builder highlight:
A hands-on builder, Sam Cohen of Joey Corp. learned every aspect of home building by doing it himself. His background as a carpenter shows in the details of all of his handcrafted homes. As a veteran Homearama builder, he built the Charity House to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs in 2000 and served as a past Homearama chairman.

From his beginnings as a carpenter’s helper, to his hands-on education, Sam continues to pride himself on his involvement with each home. From the smallest of projects to the 10,000-square-foot 2009 Homearama entry “The Crown Jewel,” he provides the same attention to detail.

With more than 30 years experience, it’s easy to see why Sam’s flair for carpentry and knack for changing the ordinary into a masterpiece has earned him countless awards. His signature craftsmanship can be found on each home that he constructs in neighborhoods throughout Hampton Roads.
