• Meet the Astronaut from 2-4 p.m. Former NASA astronaut Susan Kilrain will greet visitors at The Space Exploration House. The retired Navy commander has logged more than 471 hours of space travel.
• Biochar demonstrations: Hampton Master Gardeners will demonstrate how to create biochar from yard waste and deliver non-chemical fertilizer to plants at 1, 2, 3 p.m.

Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day):

• Military Appreciation Day. Military guests can take advantage of buy one, get one free admission with a valid military identification card. The first 200 military guests will also get a free hotdog from concessionaire Winston's Cafe.

Wednesday, June 1:

• Realtors Day. Area Realtors will be admitted free all day long with a business card and ID. Breakfast, sponsored by Shaheen & Shaheen, P.C., is from 9:30-11 a.m.

Thursday, June 2:

• ODU Day will feature coaches, award-winning mascot Big Blue and more. A special discount will be offered to those who wear ODU gear or present a student, staff or faculty ID.

Friday, June 3:

• City Day. All Virginia Beach city and school employees who show valid ID will receive a $3 discount.
• Knights at Eagle’s Nest. Enjoy brownies and chocolate-dipped strawberries and the sounds of jazz, courtesy of Kellam High School’s culinary & musical departments, from 3-5 p.m. at The Virginia Beach House.

• See the car of the future in the driveway of the Space Exploration House. The team behind The Edison 2 will describe how this very light car promises to deliver the energy efficiency we'll need in the future.

• Meet the artists Virginia Beach artists Sandra Snider, Vinnie Bumatay and Pungo Board House’s Dylan Rogers will have art on display and for sale from noon–7 p.m. at the Virginia Beach House.
  
  The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia Beach also will be giving away free museum passes, a household membership and a signed 2011 Boardwalk Art Show poster! Stop by the Virginia Beach House and find out how you can win from noon-7 p.m.

• A Taste of Virginia Beach, from 6-8 p.m. Sponsored by Hampton Roads Magazine and Virginia Natural Gas, guests will be able to sample cuisine from Virginia Beach restaurants and vote for their favorite.

• Mother’s Day Out. Show opens early at 10 a.m. for moms with school-age children. The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center's Sandi the Sea Turtle will also be at the Virginia Beach House from 10 a.m.-noon handing out free tattoos to children. Make sure you stop by and say hi!

• The Homearama Furniture Sale from noon-6 p.m. Visitors can purchase their favorite furnishings and décor from the Homearama homes. Free entry tickets for the sale will be given to all Homearama visitors in their show bag during the event.
